Towbar Towing Electrics Trailer Socket EASY WIRING KIT Canbus Cars 13 Pin

This kit makes it easy to wire a towbar electrics socket to a modern canbus vehicle.

Includes smart relay box and prewired 13 pin socket.

Easy to connect - the wires from the relay connect to your vehicles rear lights just like wiring a towbar on an older vehicle. You put power from the battery into the relay and the trailer socket is connected to the screw terminals on the smart relay.

Will work with most modern vehicles, suitable for cars with LED rear lights, canbus (computer) controlled rear lights, bulb warning systems, lights with the progressive (moving) styling effect etc...

Note; this kit will provide sidelight, brake light, indicators, fog light and reversing light functions. This kit will not provide the suplimentary functions to run a caravan fridge or charge a caravan battery whilst towing. (the prewired socket has the wires for these functions if desired at a later date)
This smart relay detects the signal to the vehicles rear lights and then powers the trailer lights from the 12v battery. It takes so little from the vehicle lighting circuit that the vehicle computer cannot detect it is fitted.

Connection guide;
Wires from relay;
Yellow Wire - Connect to left indicator.
Blue Wire - Connect to fog lamp.
White - Connect to chassis earth.
Green - Connect to right indicator.
Brown - Connect to right side light.
Red - Connect to brake light.
Black - Connect to left side light.

After these connections are made connect your 12v feed from the battery or the vehicle fuse box.

Also suits cars with combined brake/sidelight cirucits. In this case just connect the red wire and don't connect the brown/black wires. This extra wires should be insulated with tape or heatshrink. The smart relay will automatically detect this system and power the trailer lights as required.
